Barton drops 72 in Bmore

Blazers rookie and Baltimore’s own Will Barton put on a 72-point scoring display against Team Under Armour, which includes pros such as Brandon Jennings, Kemba Walker, and Derrick Williams among others. Barton’s team took the game 124-109 as he put the Baltimore team on his back.

This is the type of raw talent that I had in mind when I wrote this article before the draft: Barton potential steal of draft

It’s a mystery to me how somebody as long and athletic as Barton slipped to the 40th overall pick in the second round, but his 175 pound listed weight probably had something to do with it.  These summer league games mean nothing, but 72 points is impressive none the less.  He clearly has elite athleticism and judging by the video, his jumper is looking good.

Blazers have an extremely exciting rookie backcourt with Barton and scoring point guard and 6th overall pick Damian Lillard.  Portland is rebuilding, but they still have a top power forward in LaMarcus Aldridge to go with the exciting rookies.
