Frank Vogel playing with fire

Pacers Frank Vogel continues to try and get under the skin of Batman and Robin before their round two series starts. He's playing with fire and he's going to get his team burnt.
Indiana Pacers coach Frank Vogel is a good young coach by all accounts who has taken the Pacers to the playoffs for two years straight. However, he is making a huge miscue by continuously calling out LeBron James and Dwyane Wade for flopping before his impending round two matchup with the Heat.
Have you ever heard of the phrase ‘don’t poke a sleeping bear’? That’s what is going on here. One of the Pacers only hopes was that the Heat would come in thinking that they were the better team and not be fully prepared after a fairly easy series with the Knicks.
Vogel’s statements as of late where he identifies Miami as the biggest flopping team in the league all but guarantees that James and Wade will come out with a vengeance in game one and won’t let up. The worst thing that you can do is irritate two of the most potent, physical scorers in the game today.
Maybe he thinks that he is bringing awareness to the situation, but it’s going to have the opposite effect. I know a lot of people that tell me I’m crazy by thinking that the Pacers won’t be a challenge and I even know some who picked the Pacers in six. I’m not buying it and I can see Indiana taking one game at max. That’s right, this series won’t go more than five games and Vogel’s mouth is the main contributing factor to that prediction.
When chants of ‘a**hole’ filled Madison Square Garden last week, it did nothing but fuel James’ fire and he doesn’t need that kind of help. He’s already the most dominant player in the game and to make him mad before the series starts is committing team suicide.
We’ll see how this works out, but I am giving the Pacers no better chance than the Knicks had of knocking off the Heat. I’ll be shocked if it goes past five games. Indiana has a lot of very good young talent, but when it comes time to play with fire they are going to get burnt to a crisp. Incredibly dumb move from an otherwise smart coach.
