Draymond Green vs Jared Sullinger

Who will be able to impose their will in the Big 10 Championship game in Indianapolis, Draymond Green or Jared Sullinger?

The scene is set for a battle of the beasts in the Big 10 Tournament Championship game.  Thad Matta’s Ohio State Buckeyes will take on the Spartans of Michigan State who are coached by the one and only Tom Izzo.  OSU’s Jared Sullinger and MSU’s Draymond Green have both been dominant, but something has to give tomorrow at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Green had 14 Pts, 16 Reb, 5 Ast, 1 Stl, 3 Blk in today’s 13-point beat down of Wisconsin and 21 Pts, 10 Reb, 5 Ast, 1 Stl, 3 Blk yesterday.  The combination of Green, 6-10 240 Adreian Payne and 6-9 270 Derrick Nix will hope to keep Ohio State’s savage beast Sullinger from having his way.  Michigan state was down 9-0 and getting stomped out early 20-9 and then Austin Thornton got loose from deep.  Sparty had the lead by halftime and rolled on from there.

Sullinger had 16 points and 6 rebounds in the first half of the blowout win over Michigan today and finished with 24 Pts, 6 Reb, 1 Ast, 1 Stl, 2 Blk.  His offensive game just keeps improve as he can step out a hit a jumper, but is completely unstoppable at the college level in the post.  Michigan State offers some of the toughest defense for big No. 0.  These two teams have only met up one time this season and it was six days ago when Sullinger went for 14 pts, 10 reb, 4 ast and Ohio State got the victory 72-70.

Sullinger is averaging 17.3 points per game and 9.4 rebounds on the season while Green is putting in 16.3 and 10.3.  Ohio State started as one of the top ranked teams in the country and sit at No. 7 right now.  The Buckeyes have only lost six games on the season including a loss to Kansas when Sully was hurt and appear to be playing on another level in this tournament.

Michigan State is ranked No. 8 in country with a record of 26-7 and have been great after losing its first two games of the season against North Carolina and Duke.  Tomorrow’s game is going to come down to which star player can impact the game the most.  Izzo is going to the drawing board right now and it’s hard to bet against him at this time of the season.
