Jeremy Lin, Starter?

The Asian Sensation, Jeremy Lin, could be the starting point guard that the Knicks need to turn this thing around.
The Knicks may have found a starting point guard in the last place you would expect: their own roster. The Harvard product had the best game of his short career with a beastly 25 Pts, 5 Reb, 7 Ast, 2 Stl and most importantly was the reason that the Knicks got the win.
Tonight was the first game that Lin got real starters minutes with 35. and he proved that he should be the starting point man at least until Baron Davis gets back, if not for good. His great passing ability is something that the other candidates for the job can’t do. Toney Douglas and Iman Shumpert have some physical advantages over Lin but are no where near the creators and the Knicks need play-making skills over anything else right now.
Every time the Knicks needed a big basket it was Jeremy Lin getting to the rim. He slices through defenders and takes it to the rim fearlessly. His ability to break down defenders, penetrate the lane, and score or dish is what the Knicks have been looking for all along.
He doesn’t shoot the jumper particularly well but just like with Rajon Rondo, that can be avoided with his play-making skills. For the Knicks to turn this thing around they are going to have to find production with the players that they have. Lin is the best surprise of the season and put on an unbelievable show in the Garden tonight.
He gets picked on a little defensively but it doesn’t matter if he can produce even close to this level every night. If I wasn’t before, I’m a Jeremy Lin fan now. The beast from the far east is a smart, fast, creative point guard that is getting his chance to break into the league as a real player right now and he’s taking advantage.
