Is this the face of your franchise, DC?

Does John Wall know where he is ?

I’m all for making a fashion statement… but what is THIS?  Is that the face of your franchise, DC?

Owner of the Wizards, Ted Leonsis had to just love the way his team was represented on national television in most anticipated game of the college basketball season this far, UNC at UK.

The glasses that Wizards point guard John Wall was wearing to the Kentucky game, of all places, was one of the worst things I have ever seen.  They scream drug inspired.  Did Wall get drunk in the parking lot with all the Kentucky students?  I am confused on what would possess Wall to wake up put on that hat and those shades and attend this game knowing he is going to be all over the camera and the whole country would see him all game.  All these young players should take notes from Kevin Durant on how to act.

On a serious note, he gets a pass for still acting like a kid because he is still a kid, spending only one year under Coach Cal.  The Wizards entire future rests on just how good John Wall becomes. 16.4 pts 8.3 ast and 4.6 rebounds during his rookie year.  At 6’5″ with great speed and a killer crossover combined with elite jumping ability, he is going to be a star at the point guard position.  Wall turned the ball over far too much last season 3.8 times again but that will get better in time.  There is really no ceiling on how good he can be if he can improve his jumper and clean up his game a little bit.  He could raise his game to all-star caliber as soon as this season if he can do those things.

Wall has a chance to be a special player.  No. 1 overall pick and the Wizards more than anybody know the importance of grooming a young point guard with a lot of talent mentally after the Gilbert Arenas disaster.
