UNC drops one in Vegas, call it a blessing

I feel your pain, Coach.

No. 1 North Carolina aka the ‘Dream Team’ aka ‘We routinely beat the Bobcats in scrimmages’ couldn’t get by the UNLV Runnin’ Rebs in Vegas 90-80.

UNLV played in transition and nailed three point daggers all night long.  UNLV scored the first 14 points of the second half and Carolina couldn’t respond.  It had to bring back some memories for legendary coach Tark the Shark who was in the stands watching.

I didn’t see North Carolina losing for a long time but it should do nothing but help the Tar Heels down the road.  Undefeated teams get complacent and drop a game sooner or later, it’s good to get it out of the way early and give them a reminder that they still have to outwork everybody no matter how much talent they have.

This loss doesn’t bother Roy Williams, I can tell you that much.  UNC has the best talent in the country and I fully suspect they will soon be considered the top team in the country within a few weeks.

To give credit where credit is due, UNLV played a great game.  Get them ranked.

Chace Stanback – 28 points 10 reb

Mike Moser – 16 pts – 18 REB <– GOODNESS and 6 ast

Oscar Bellfield 16 pts 9 ast
