Tar Heels and Buckeyes look like ‘the two’ so far

The Tar Heels have all the talent and showed it off on Saturday against South Carolina in Vegas with a 87-62 win.  Roy Williams has the best team in the country right now.  I think this team is better than any other UNC squad that Roy Williams has coached including ’05 and ’09.  They have top notch talent at every position and they go deep at every position.

Harrison Barnes – 21 pts on 6-10 shooting 2-3 from downtown and 7-10 from the line.  Barnes solid as usual.

John Henson – 18 pts 8 reb 1 blk – Henson’s length and versatility makes him a problem for any team in the country.

Kendall Marshall – 4 pts 14 asts – Did exactly what a point guard is supposed to do, set his teammates up for easy buckets all night long.

P.J. Hairston 19 pts in 15 minutes on 5-8 from downtown. 6’6″ Freshman, Love this guys game, he can fill it up and he’s not scared to pull the trigger.  Just one of many that can put it in the basket for Roy.

No. 3 Ohio State beat 5-1 Valporaiso easily 80-27.  The Buckeyes are the second best team in the country right now.  In my opinion they have a better team than No.2 Kentucky at this point in the season.  Kentucky has the talent and could be great by the end of the season but it’s the Buckeyes who look in mid-season form early.  They aren’t just beating teams they are blowing the competition, although weak, out.  No flaws have been exposed yet and they are covering every spread.

Jared Sullinger – 14 pts, 13 reb, 5 ast, 4 stl, 1 blk.  Sullinger is dominating college basketball for the second season in a row and is nearly unguardable in the post.  Nobody could stop him as a freshman last season.

William Buford – 25 pts 9-16  4-4 from three-point territory.  If Buford plays at this level all year long, Ohio State is going to be extremely difficult to beat.  Dominated the entire game on offense.

Aaron Craft – 15 pts 8 ast 4 stl – Great all around game for the Sophomore guard out of Findlay, Ohio.
